Human Resource Development (M.S.)

Indiana State University offers the online master's degree in human resource development to provide students with exceptional opportunities for careers in higher education, industry, government, and other agencies. Coursework is designed to enable students to complete their degrees while maintaining full-time employment or other responsibilities

• The master of science is a 33- to 36-credit-hour program depending on whether HRD 600 must be taken.
• The program includes a flexible core curriculum with a directed specialization option.
• This program can be completed in 1½ years. Students also have the option of part-time study; however, students are required to complete the program within seven years.
• This program can be completed on the Indiana State University campus or via online learning.
• Completion of an integrative capstone is required.
• All courses are offered on-line. On-campus visits are not required.
• This online program is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories). The program also is open to students in Canada (all provinces). The program is closed to students residing in countries other than the U.S. and Canada except for U.S. military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.

Students may choose a specialization to reflect their current area of employment, work experience, or particular area of interest. Electives for specialization requirements can be fulfilled by a combination of coursework earned through online learning and the student's local college or university.

Graduates of this program are qualified to be specialists who will have the expertise to:

• Analyze, design, and implement effective human resource development programs to increase functional capabilities in international and multicultural environments.
• Provide leadership and guidance regarding the concepts and practices of human resource development and its effect on organizational leadership, culture, and growth in both the public and private sector.
• Provide expertise in establishing the foundations for and the evaluation of the many facets of HRD training programs.
